Breakfast at Puget Sound Pizza

· Posted Monday April 24, 2006 by jamie

Well, one of the things we’ve been wanting to do here at thrice all american is to get out and do some new things in Tacoma that we haven’t done before. A couple of months ago we were doing a one-new-thing-each-week sorta thing, and then we got busy, and you know how that goes… Perhaps we’ll re-hash some of the early “new things” in a later posting, but today we’re going to look at our first “new thing”: breakfast at Puget Sound Pizza.

PSP itself isn’t new to us. It has quickly become one of our favorite pizza restaurants in town since it opened a couple of years ago. But until Saturday, we had yet to try out their weekend breakfast menu, and we thought it would be a great way to kick of our day at the Daffodil Parade.

First thing’s first: the coffee, unfortunately, wasn’t the best. Sorta weak, and they didn’t even have a pot of decaf. So there’s my big gripe…

The food, on the other hand, was really good. I got the corned beef hash, which is a rarity for me because I generally avoid eating beef. The corned beef chunks were nice and big, potatoes were done just right, really no complaints at all. Melissa got a deliciously fluffy Santa Fe omelet.

I will mention that portions were huge. As we were not going straight home, we had to leave our leftovers, which was kind of a shame. If we’d known about the big portions going in we could have totally split a plate (for a dollar extra) and had plenty of food.

Anyway, I’m sure we’ll be heading back here occasionally for their breakfast menu, as long as it’s not a “must have coffee” sort of morning. If you haven’t been, it’s definitely worth a visit!
